It’s no secret that Sydney has some of the best beaches in the world. So why not take advantage of your seaside surroundings and take your date on a 100% free beach stroll followed by a nice café or restaurant.
4. Picnic at Palm Beach
Fancy a relaxing picnic? Head to Palm Beach Ferry Wharf, pick up a gourmet burger and chips and enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the banks of Pittwater. Make sure you bring a blanket, and be prepared to soak up some sun and make friends with the seagulls.
5. Visit the markets
Sydney is famous for its range of markets – from food and produce, to vintage and arts and crafts, you are guaranteed to find something to keep your tastes happy. Our personal favourite is Glebe Markets, held every Saturday. Grab yourself a cup of homemade lemonade, and try some of the international culinary delights on offer and enjoy a Saturday with your special someone.
6. Fantastic Food at The Rocks
The Rocks is one of Sydney’s most historical, cultural precincts – and there is plenty on offer in terms of romance and fun – especially if you’re a bit of a foodie!
7. Bike riding tour around Sydney
Want to show your date some mad wheelie skills? Why not take a ride around Sydney with Bonza Bike Tours? Pick a sunny afternoon, straddle a bike and get your date moving – and having fun – all at the same time! 8. Ghost Tour at Q Station
If you’ve been pulling all your best moves, and your date is still failing to snuggle up close, you may want to take them on a tour at Sydney’s historic Q Station. 9. Pick some berries at Montrose Berry Farm
If you’re in the mood to escape the city smog and get some fresh country air, then head down south to Sutton Forest, a two hour drive from Sydney. The heritage-listed homestead at Montrose Berry Farm is part of a working berry farm, and you can pop on down to pick your own fruit! Get amongst the brambles to find blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries and more.
10. Watch an indie flick at Avoca Cinema
If heading up north is more your style, then why not spend a romantic eve at Avoca Beach Picture Theatre? This quaint little cinema has been running for over 60 years. The theatre shows an array of foreign and Australian films, and was voted Australia’s Best Regional Cinema in 2010…And a two hour drive is nothing compared to the traditional sweet goodies on offer here.
